Bock Fest 2010
Another Bock Fest has come and gone and a successful one it was. With over 6,500 in attendance, this was another record-breaking year. We would like to thank everyone who attended! It wouldn’t have been the same without you.
Once again, people could experience the classic events of Bock Fest such as; the harmonious vocals of the Bock Fest Boys, the scrumptious taste of caramelized beer, the aroma of German food lingering in the air, and enough Schell’s Beer to go around. And let’s not forget the most important event of Bock Fest, the medallion hunt. Four of the seven Bocks were found; December, February, March, and the Queen. Since not all 7 Bocks were captured, legend has it that winter will prevail and spring will come late. Congratulations to those who found the different Bocks:
- Queen: Mike Russell, Darren Lochner, and Eric Elias of Minneapolis
- December: Pat Schneider of New Ulm
- February: Celeste (Sellner) Dieken of Sleepy Eye
- March: Gregg Schnobrich of Fairfax
Once again, the Bock Fest Boys were in full form. They switched it up this time around, conducting a few crowd sing-a-longs. Here they debuted their new songs, “Take Me out to the Brewery” in the melody of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” as well as their own Schell’s Brewery rendition of “Pants on the Ground”. Lyrics were provided so the crowd could join in! Although they introduced some new tunes they stayed true to their roots serenading the crowd to Ring of Fire 4 different times.
To all those dressed up in snow pants or deer skin hats, to those of you who waited patiently in the beer and food lines, to those tailgaters and after-partiers, you are testament to the true Schell’s beer fan! Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you next year!
