Bock Fest 2011
BOCK FEST 2011 – LETTER FROM THE HUNTMASTER:
We are gearing up for the 26th Annual Bock Fest here at the Brewery. This year we have decided to implement some changes to make the best event even better. No, the clues won’t get any clearer, but anyway, read on!
First, we will be selling a limited number of advance tickets to the event in the Schell’s Gift Shop. Advance tickets will be 10 BOCKS, and available February 14th through Feb. 24th, or until gone. They are only available in the Schell’s Gift Shop. No phone orders! You must be present to win - I mean to purchase your tickets. Tickets are not for resale and are non-refundable. We do reserve the right to limit the amount of tickets any individual can purchase. Advance tickets will guarantee admission to the event!! The gates open at 11 am and there will be a separate line for advance ticket holders to enter through. Although we cannot guarantee a shorter wait at the gate, let me repeat that – WE CANNOT GUARANTEE A SHORTER WAIT AT THE GATE - we can guarantee that you will be admitted to the grounds for the event.
This year’s admission price will also be $10.00. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Program in support of New Ulm’s National Guard Unit that is scheduled to deploy this year. In addition, we will continue to donate proceeds to the New Ulm Area Food Shelf.
Another change to this year’s event is that only 21 year olds and over will be admitted. You must produce an ID and be 21 years of age or older to enter the grounds. NO MINORS - NO EXCEPTIONS. Wristbands will be checked at every bar. If you do not have one, you will be escorted off the grounds.
In addition, and perhaps the most exciting news - we will be expanding the grounds for the event! We will be adding the “JAEGER’S RUH” Bar, another brat stand, and a bonfire! This bar will be located in the woods, on the pre-trail, leading to the Bock Hunt Trail. For those of you that would prefer to enjoy the scenic environment of the wooded hillside and the Cottonwood River, just head down the trial next to the Museum, and you will reach this hidden bar.
Finally, we want you to know that it is illegal to drink on any city street in New Ulm. Those that do drink on the streets while waiting to get on the grounds run the risk of being cited by the police. In addition, those that are clearly intoxicated prior to the event will not be allowed to enter the gate. If you do generate toxic waste, or regular waste, please use the waste receptacles to dispose of your garbage. Because I walk the roads to pick up garbage after the event, you don’t want to tick ME off, because I decide if there is an event! Seriously, I do ask that you please respect the grounds. New Ulm is a beautiful community, and we want to keep it that way.
We are hoping that all of these changes will enhance the fest, and make it even more enjoyable for all of our loyal Bock Festers. Bring your boots ----
And May The Bock Be With You!
