Grain Belt Sign to be Re-lit in Minneapolis with Official After-party Featuring The 4onthefloor

NEW ULM, MN, (Dec. 8, 2017) — With much awaited anticipation, the August Schell Brewing Company, Minnesota-based brewers of Grain Belt beer, announce the re-lighting of the iconic Grain Belt sign in Minneapolis. To commemorate the event and kick off the 125th Anniversary of Grain Belt brewing history, a celebratory lighting ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 30 at 5:30 PM with an after-party immediately to follow featuring The 4onthefloor at Nicollet Island Pavilion in Northeast Minneapolis.

After 15 years of negotiations, planning, permits, and hard work, the Minneapolis skyline will once again feature the bright iconic sign overlooking the Mississippi River.

“The Grain Belt Beer sign has been present in the Minneapolis community since 1941 and has recently been named to the National Register of Historic Places,” said Ted Marti, president and fifth-generation descendant of brewery founder, August Schell. “A family tradition since 1860, our historic Minnesota brewery is continually committed to preserving history, both at the brewery and in our community.”

The sign lighting is open to the public and those wishing to attend are encouraged to find standing room along West River Parkway near the Hennepin Bridge. The After Glow Party will be a ticketed 21 + event. Tickets for The After Glow Party go on sale next Wednesday, December 13 at 10AM. Tickets are limited and advance purchase is encouraged.
