Strong and rich, this robust brew, commonly consumed during the coldest winter months, will warm you through to spring. Pouring dark caramel in color, Bock is lagered longer for its bready aromas, toasted caramel malts, and smooth, silky finish. The perfect balance of marshmallow sweetness with a hint of bitterness.

Behind
the brew

Bock beer was born in the German town of Einbeck, where its rich, malty flavor quickly won fans far and wide. When the style reached Munich, the locals' Bavarian dialect led to a playful mispronunciation of "Einbeck" and turned it into "Ein Bock," the German word for "Billy Goat." The name stuck, and so did the image of a goat that has come to symbolize this classic beer.

That same spirit of tradition and fun lives on in Schell's Bock, our annual Bockfest, and the famous search for the Seven Bocks of Winter. Legend has it that when all seven Bocks are found, winter will finally give way, something every Midwesterner looks forward to by March!
