  • WE CHECK ID's FOR EVERYONE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Tickets are first come, first serve. If you have a long drive to reach us, call ahead to see if it's busy.
  • Private group tours may be arranged, but times are very limited, and private tours must be booked well in advance by calling us at 507-354-5528.

Parking at Schell's

There is limited parking on our brewery grounds and there is no turnaround in our parking lot for large motorhomes or campers. There is a lower lot available with a short walk up the hill to the main grounds.

Purchase Tickets

Purchase your tickets in the Museum of Brewing, there you will meet with your tour guide. The tour starts off in the Museum of Brewing with the history of the founding family.

Explore The Grounds

Roam the grounds and learn more about the history of the structures on the property, including the famous family mansion, while viewing the beautiful gardens and roaming peacocks.

Historic Brewhouse

Discover where it all began in the historic brewhouse dating back to the 1800s. Learn about the authentic pre-prohibition copper kettle shipped from Germany.

Complimentary Sampling

The tour ends with an assorted beer and 1919 root beer sampling in our Rathskellar Tap Room.

*Note: Our Tap Room is used exclusively for our tours. You must be on a tour to do the beer sampling.
